The farmers who are partners in PKM activities are tomato farmers in Nagari Surian, Pantai Cermin District, Solok Regency. Tomato farmers often experience losses because when the tomato harvest season arrives the product is abundant, while demand is constant. Farmers will just let the tomatoes rot because the harvesting process will take up a lot of energy and money. This activity focuses on efforts to control the quality of post-harvest tomatoes by using a coating technique based on edible natural ingredients (edible coating) with the natural ingredient aloe vera. The stages of this activity are divided into three activities, namely initial activities which include analysis of partner needs, core (providing material and practice) and final (program evaluation). Based on the results of a questionnaire given to partners as many as 20 people with an age range of 25 – 46 years and consisting of men and women, 90% of participants agreed that this edible coating could be used to solve the problem of tomatoes that rot easily after harvest.
2024-11-13T08:06:42+00:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://pelitaeksakta.ppj.unp.ac.id/index.php/pelitaeksakta/article/view/248 Utilization of Corn Cob Waste into Briquettes as Renewable Fuel in Nagari Lingkuang Aua Bandarajo 2024-11-16T04:58:59+00:00 Dwi Finna Syolendra dwi.finna820@fmipa.unp.ac.id Riga Riga rigakimia@fmipa.unp.ac.id Romy Dwipa Yamesa Away romydwipa@fmipa.unp.ac.id Boni Saputra bonisaputra@gmail.com Melindra Mulia wandamulia@gmail.com Bali Yana Fitri baliyf@fmipa.unp.ac.id Ermia Hidayanti ermia@gmail.com
Pasaman District is the largest corn producer in West Sumatra Province, one of the villages is Lingkuang Aua Bandarajo, where the majority of the population work as corn farmers. This amount is directly proportional to the amount of corn cob waste produced from agricultural activities. Based on the results of observations and interviews with local communities, it is known that the processing of corn cob waste has not been carried out optimally, because people tend to burn the corn cobs, which has an impact on environmental pollution. One solution that can be provided is to hold training on processing corn cob waste into charcoal briquettes. This PKM activity was carried out offline with 3 sessions, namely a session presenting material regarding business opportunities and how to make corn cob briquettes, practice accompanied by a team and independent practice. Through this PKM activity, it is known that there has been an increase in knowledge about corn cob briquettes by the youth of the village of Aua Bandarajo. The obstacles in selling fishermen's products are related to the geographical location of Sikabaluan village, which has limited transportation between the village and areas outside the island. The issues found in the village of Sikabaluan are 1) The accumulation of fish during the harvest season, causing fish prices to tend to be lower than usual, even resulting in unsold fish that spoil, and 2) A lack of knowledge among the community regarding fish preservation. This relates to how to preserve fish so that it does not spoil quickly and has a longer shelf life, as well as how to utilize and prepare natural materials as natural preservatives. 3) There is a lack of skills among the community to process fishery products into other types of food, so that unsold fish can be transformed into other food types with higher market value. Therefore, it is necessary to provide assistance to the community of Sikabaluan village to enhance their knowledge regarding fish preservation and how to process fish into other types of food with high economic value. The method used in this service involves counseling and training for the community. This activity will be held in August 2024 and will be attended by 20 participants from the fishing community of Muara Sikabaluan village. The results of this activity show that (1) there is an increase in public knowledge about food and nutrition as well as innovations in fish processing. (2) The community has acquired skills in processing fish products into nuggets. (3) This knowledge and skill can serve as a foundation for businesses to meet the community's livelihood needs, thereby enhancing the economic situation of the community
2024-09-18T23:24:59+00:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://pelitaeksakta.ppj.unp.ac.id/index.php/pelitaeksakta/article/view/255 Development of Garuda Mas Tourism Object Based on Educational Tourism in Agam Regency, West Sumatera 2024-11-16T04:59:16+00:00 Fitri Arsih fitriarsih@fmipa.unp.ac.id Suci Fajrina sucifajrina@fmipa.unp.ac.id Delmira Syafrini delmirasyafrini@fis.unp.ac.id Tazkiyah Yuanda tzkyhyuanda@gmail.com Ghina Salsabila ghinasalsabilana@gmail.com
Community training in developing educational tourism is a strategic effort to combine aspects of education and tourism to create an interactive and enjoyable learning experience. Technological advances have made it possible to use various digital platforms to support learning [1], [2]. In this era, the phenomenon of learning flexibility has become a top priority for educational institutions in various countries [3]. Flexible learning will help increase the effectiveness of learning and help students develop skills that are relevant to an increasingly complex world of work [4]. Learning flexibility in the era of digital technology in science education does not only include a combination of online or offline learning [5], but must also have a pedagogical framework that is oriented towards a balance of digital experience and scientific experience [6] [7] [8]. To achieve a balanced combination of digital and scientific experiences, teachers need to provide relevant resources, including interactive digital platforms and scientific tools. In addition, teachers must plan and implement practical activities that involve students in direct experience in the real world. To accommodate this, teaching materials are needed that implement a learning framework that integrates constructivist learning theory with connectivistic learning theory [9] [10] [11], so that science learning supported by various digital platforms can be more effective.
However, conditions in the field show that the majority of teachers have not been able to implement this flexible learning framework and develop their teaching materials. Based on early observations at junior high schools in Agam Regency that the Community Service Team has carried out, the percentage of teachers who are able to implement the learning framework is only around 10%. The lack of socialization from the government and academics regarding the implementation of flexible learning frameworks in the digital era has also resulted in the low ability of junior high school science teachers in Agam Regency to be able to develop teaching materials that are able to facilitate flexible learning in the era of digital technology (only around 5%).
The Community Partnership Program (PKM) in the form of Mentoring MGMP Science Teachers in Agam Regency in Developing Teaching Materials to facilitate Flexible Learning in the Digital Technology Era is a solution that needs to be implemented. The ultimate goal of this assistance is to increase teacher readiness to implement the flexible learning framework and develop teaching materials. The results of mentoring activities show that the final competency level achieved was 81% and digital teaching material products were obtained.
2024-11-13T15:05:54+00:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://pelitaeksakta.ppj.unp.ac.id/index.php/pelitaeksakta/article/view/242 Bridging the Gap in Interactive Education: A WordWall Training Initiative for MGMP Instructors in Padang Panjang 2024-11-16T04:59:30+00:00 Dina Agustina dinagustina@fmipa.unp.ac.id
In the quest for educational advancement in Padang Panjang, Indonesia, this article presents a groundbreaking initiative titled "Bridging the Gap in Interactive Education: A WordWall Training Initiative for MGMP Instructors."
